| Educational Material for Mango Airways Hemingway Expedition provided by the Global Advancement Foundation,
a non-profit foundation dedicated entirely to students.
As individuals we recognize the value of literature. As teachers we must convey the value of that literature
to our students in a way which will educate, motivate and inspire their imagination. Let them take with them
an in depth understanding of the lower latitudes, of forgotten islands, pirates, runaway vagabonds, trade winds
and the many reasons E.H. chose to reside there.
Starting next semester (Spring 2002), log on and follow our Mango Airways Expedition as we head south to the places Hemingway
lived, fished, travelled and wrote. Daily pictures, journals, and exciting interview with people that knew Hemingway and the places
he fished will all be available courtesy of Mango and GAF to all educators for no fee whatsoever.
Follow us as we head south to the seas E.H. once sailed, the shipping docks where he boxed, and the forbidden Havana
he called home. What better way to teach the writings of a great writer than to imbibe your students with the affliction
of the tropics, the danger of pirates and the majestic simplicity of the fisherman. We invite you and your classroom to join
us on another great educational adventure in your classroom.
Below are but a few sites the expedition will be visiting and some ideas for English lessons and Geography lessons as well
as history lessons:
Havana Cuba
Bimini
Key West
